Thank you for taking the first step in learning more about Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Sudbury. Big Brothers and Big Sisters are people like you who volunteer to share a little time with a young person. Share a little magic with a child and see the difference you can make.

Big Brothers Big Sisters is changing the way kids grow up in Greater Sudbury. Through one-to-one mentoring services, our volunteers are empowering children with the tools, confidence, and guidance to make decisions that will affect their safety, their well-being, and their potential. We require investment from individuals – whether time, talent, products, funds or treasures – to make a powerful community impact.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Sudbury currently has 79 children waiting to be matched and our numbers continue to grow. We currently have 58 boys and 21 girls. Boys in our programs tend to wait 1-2 years and sometimes up to 3 years to be matched with a caring mentor. The girls often will wait 6-12 months. Our challenge continues to be in increasing our male volunteer base.

Mentoring programs are arguably the most effective and efficient ways of reaching out to and positively affecting children in need and at risk. Your support of mentoring is truly a cost-effective investment into the future of Greater Sudbury’s children.
