Do you have what it takes to be a "BIG"?
Big Brothers Big Sisters (BBBS) of Greater Sudbury urgently requires more community volunteers, to become Big Brothers
Why become a Big Brother?
Not only will you be helping a young person in need of additional support and friendship, becoming a Big Brother or Big Sister is an excellent opportunity to give something back to the community. Helping a young person out by being a positive role model and sharing experiences is also a rewarding and satisfying experience.
BBBS of Greater Sudbury is calling for more support from the community, particularly men to meet the demand of young people waiting for “BIG”. 90 per cent of young people referred to BBBS are boys, but 80 per cent of inquiries from potential mentors comes from women. Boys are outgrowing our waiting lists!
Currently 58 boys are waiting to be matched and the average wait time for them is between 2-3 years. There are currently 20 girls and the average wait time is 6-12 months.
Do you have a few hours every other week?
“Bigs” commit to spending quality time with a young person for a few hours every other week. A minimum commitment of 12 months is required. If you think you have what it takes to be a “BIG” call us today!705-673-6161
